FUNDRAISING CONCERT
JANUARY 9th, 2023 @LOFT, Cologne
Scholarships for KJC students

GERMAN VERSION

Raising money to fund scholarships for the Kathmandu Jazz Conservatory.

How everything began...

In April 2022, we went to Nepal on a two-week-long tour to the KatJazz International Festival in cooperation with the Goethe Institut, the UNESCO and the Kathmandu Jazz Conservatory (KJC). The tour was divided into concerts with local musicians as well as workshops and masterclasses for students of the KJC, resulting in a meaningful musical and personal exchange. Therefore, we will continue the collaboration with the KJC.

What is the scholarship for...

The KJC offers a two-year diploma programme for young musicians. As a private conservatory, no costs are covered by the government and the programme is financed privately as well as supported by UNESCO, the Goethe Centre Kathmandu and tuition fees. The tuition fees are approximately 850 € per year, which must be paid by each student. Within the context of these scholarships, the complete tuition fees are covered, and, in addition, a language course is offered by the Goethe Centre Kathmandu to further enable an exchange or studies at a German conservatory.

How do we finance the scholarship...

To be able to finance another scholarship, we will play a fundraising concert in Cologne at the Loft on January 9th, 2023. All revenue from this concert will go towards the scholarship. If you want to support that, join our concert. If you’d like to support us even more, you can make donations here or via the QR code below, which will also go entirely to the scholarship fund.
